36 Credit Accelerated Graduate Literacy Program for Teachers holding Initial or Professional Certification

Literacy Certification in Birth-Grade 6 or Grades 5-12

During this 2 year graduate program, teachers will:

  • Learn essential assessments and data-driven intervention techniques
    • Apply assessments and intervention techniques in a supervised clinical setting
  • Develop a thorough understanding of literacy demands across all disciplines
  • Acquire literacy leadership skills that include:
    • Planning and providing sustainable professional development
      • Classroom coaching, parent workshops, school-wide initiatives
    • Conducting classroom research
    • Grant writing
    • Analyzing school-wide literacy programs and making recommendations
    • Leading assessment teams and RTI meetings
    • Understanding and addressing policy decisions that impact literacy

Higher Education Partners

RTC Institute partners with colleges and universities to bring high quality, convenient, graduate courses and programs to educators. The college and university partners define all application, matriculation, course, and graduation requirements, and grant graduate credit. RTC Institute serves as the local sponsoring partner for these courses and programs by bringing the courses and programs to local sites. RTC Institute cannot grant graduate credit or degrees.
